Pastor's Notes

Christmas continuation

God wants us to be kind, honest, and good people who give, but also make a profit. In this world, it is absolutely possible to make money and still be miserable and alone.

When George takes over, we see an example of how God can sometimes ask us to step into something that looks far from our desires, yet He is supernaturally positioning us for our purpose. Don’t miss the supernatural while looking for the spectacular—the supernatural can appear practical. God wants us to have both ideals and common sense. God’s plan is for us to free people from oppression, like Mr. Potter.

George is waiting for Harry to return and relieve him, but it doesn’t come at the time he expects. You will reap in due season if you do not faint.

We see George begin to prosper, but in the process of walking out our purpose, Satan will always offer a deal of compromise—just as George resists Mr. Potter’s offer.

The curse at work in the earth brings resistance, like the war depicted, which affects George’s business.

Mr. Potter conceals the money, knowing it would ruin George. Satan will capitalize on your mistakes, attempt to cause your demise, make you blame yourself, and then try to convince you to take full responsibility for something he did. We must resist condemnation and believe God for recovery.

When the enemy applies financial pressure, he is often trying to turn family members against each other and break down the family unit.

Husband and wife are a team—covenant is work. When George wanted to give up his life, it was his wife’s faith and hope that helped restore him, the whole family, and even the town.
